After looking into the recommendations and doing more research, I've decided the US Bank Altitude Go card is best for me now. When the pandemic is over, I'll travel often (mostly GA <--> nyc) so I'll probably go for the Amex Gold+Plat combo since the Gold seems very similar to the Altitude Go.
Legit ways to pay for cash-only transactions on a card? : CreditCards
AA/Citi card holder here, and trying to reach the EQD waiver for Platinum Pro. Until now, I've put rent on the card through property management portal (yes, with a fee.. it's about the waiver). Property was recently sold, and new landlord is self-managing, ie. cash/check only. Anyone have any legit ways to do this on a credit card that 1. won't count as a cash advance, and 2. are acceptable with AA/Citi, and won't trigger them to disallow the transaction as a purchase?
This simple but excellent rewards card from Citi comes with a unique twist: It offers 2% cash back on every purchase, but you'll get 1% when the purchase is made and 1% when it's actually paid for. I've never really been big into learning about credit cards and I'm realizing now that I could have gotten a lot more value out of credit by switching a few years ago to something that would be more beneficial to me. That being said, I have the following two cards. The first one is my main card that I use for 99% of purchases. Barclays AAdvantage Aviator Red MC - $6k, since 2018 (main card), $99 annual fee BoA Visa Platinum Plus - $3k, since 2016 (seldom used), $40 annual fee I used to travel with American Airlines a lot, but now my wife and I are dual residents and live mostly in the EU while still maintaining a US address so the miles I earn don't really benefit us anymore. I'm thinking of getting the Chase Sapphire Preferred due to no FTF's and some travel perks that would come in handy. Also, since the highly recommended Citi Double Cash card does have FTF's it's not an option for me, so I'm thinking of going with the Capitol One Quicksilver Cash Rewards for my second card. I have accounts with both banks and a FICO score of about 774.
